We are witnessing how language teaching is transforming worldwide and the new phenomena of language teachers calling themselves language coaches and the question here is what is this? Are there any guidelines or is there a definition? For those who know me, I am the creator of Neurolanguage Coaching®, a new approach and method for language learning which combines the principles of neuroscience together with coaching a vehicle of delivering the learning process. Back in 2012 I created the definition of Neurolanguage Coaching®, “Neurolanguage Coaching® is the efficient and fast transfer of language knowledge from the Language Coach to the Language Coachee with sustainable effects facilitated by brain based coaching and coaching principles.”

Sport and fitness have always been a part of Lee Campbell’s life. His excellence on the sporting field translated into a career in fitness, when he joined the Australian Army’s Royal Australian Regiment (3rd Battalion – Para Troopers) and became an elite Physical Training Instructor, responsible for the physical training of soldiers. Drafted to play Australian Rules Football with the Sydney Swans, he went onto represent NSW at State level. For over 25 years, Lee has devoted himself to the health and fitness industry, providing training to a vast array of clients, including celebrities, Corporations and anyone wishing to improve their health and fitness. Lee offers his expertise to Australian and global communities, businesses and corporations, in building sustainable health and wellbeing programs for staff and the local community. These include: AusAID Australian Federal Police World Bank Group Global Oil & Gas Companies
Lee’s method of bringing training back to basics has had a lasting impact on everyone he trains; from the sporting elite to some of Australia’s most prestigious celebrities and businessmen and he is always inspired by the difference his training makes in the lives of his clients and communities. It’s this successful formula which keeps him in demand as he travels around Australia and overseas helping businesses integrate his training methods and passion for health into the lives of their employees.
Back-to-Basics
Lee bases his training on functional body training; getting back-to-basics. His aim is to help clients achieve a healthy, functioning body, that is able to support them throughout their daily lives, maximising their health and prolonging their lives. To do this, he assesses their physical, mental and emotional needs by bonding with his clients and forming genuine friendships with mutual respect. Lee then pushes the client further in their physical training then they thought possible, using a mix of encouragement and tough love. When Lee trains people, he likes to work out what makes them tick and his ability to do this so well, has propelled his success as a fitness trainer. He knows that to get through to someone, he needs to understand their personality, their dreams and relating to them on a level that will work for that individual. “I don’t overwhelm my clients with my dream for them. This is their dream, that I’m a part of, and I enjoy the journey with them.”
Tough Mudder Ambassador Australia
Lee was the Tough Mudder Ambassador for Australia from 2012 – 2014. Tough Mudder partnered with Lee because of his renowned fitness expertise and experience as a soldier and physical training instructor in the Australian Army (3rd Battalion – para trooper). “Tough Mudder is probably the toughest event on the planet, so you need to be ready to take on the challenge. Not only is there 20kms to run around the course, you’ll also be tested to 20–30 military-style obstacles that will challenge you mentally and physically.” Lee thrives on helping people prepare for Tough Mudder and other mud, adventure and obstacle based events and knows what it takes to complete these challenges. “Mud races, obstacle races and adventure race events are designed to test all-around fitness, which means training for the event is part of the challenge.”

13.What is Language Coaching - Rachel’s reflections on the series so far

Today my podcast is really about reflecting on all the wonderful contributions from the previous guests on what Language Coaching is for them and taking stock of all the different perspectives relating to language coaching in the world.
And at this point, I would like to bring in some further exploration and explanation to clarify “what is Neurolanguage Coaching?”. So, in this podcast I would like to give my listeners worldwide some insights and clear indications what this means. Firstly, Neurolanguage Coaching is an approach, process or even method to learn any language and not only English. It is crystalised into a different structure that gives coaches a backbone to their whole process. The language learning revolves around the 3Ms and PACT PQC, (for further information check out my book Neurolanguage Coaching https://www.amazon.co.uk/Neurolanguage-Coaching-Friendly-Language-Learning/dp/1910864943 ).
The language learning is delivered through brain-friendly coaching conversations, whereby the coach has constant awareness of the impact of his/her communication patterns with the learner. The Neurolanguage Coach is skilfully trained around how to coach around emotional triggers or negative mindset or even bad learning memories, and above all the Neurolanguage Coach knows how to trigger connections between languages following exactly how the brain learns language through association, which is something that I have personally experienced throughout my life. It can be used as a vehicle for any language and also I would like to add it can be used for beginners too or people who are a low level and wish to fast track. However, the lower the level of the learner, the more the process is delivered through the learner’s native language, block-building up the knowledge of the new language.
Over the next weeks, I will be interviewing more and more guests but some of them may have a totally different perspective of coaching or language coaching.

Emma Sue Prince is a specialist in experiential learning and believes strongly that this methodology is key to developing life skills and soft skills as it is the only way to develop self-awareness, upon which all behavioural change is based.
She delivers powerful workshops in this regard and does so with many different target groups including “closed” groups such as Muslim communities in Bangladesh and North Africa and diverse groups in the UK including lawyers, doctors and software engineers.
She also trains trainers to facilitate using the same methodology. Her successful approach lies in working totally in the moment with a group and with what emerges from that group. She is passionate about a group developing their own context for skills such as empathy, adaptability and being proactive. In this way real and powerful learning outcomes emerge from which strategies, progression and ideas can be defined.
Emma Sue is committed to supporting young people and her workshops are also run with secondary schools, youth offending teams and with young people who are not in education, training or employment. Emma Sue works in emerging and developing countries as well as in the UK training trainers, designing materials and providing consultancy on employability skills. Her work has taken her all over the world and has given her a leading reputation in the field.
The skills Emma Sue focuses on are adaptability, critical thinking, empathy, integrity, optimism, being proactive and resilience and she runs experiential learning workshops on these skills to a range of clients in various sectors and many of them native speakers.
